This introductory course provides a foundational understanding of SS&C Blue Prism WorkHQ and the evolution from task-based RPA to agentic, workflow-driven automation. Learners explore how workflows, AI agents, digital workers, humans, and APIs work together to orchestrate end-to-end business outcomes, understand the separation of responsibilities across components, and review practical use cases that demonstrate governed agentic automation in action.

Objectives

• Describe the evolution of enterprise automation, from classic Robotic Processing Automation (RPA) to agentic workflows that integrate AI-driven decision support
• Differentiate deterministic automation from agentic automation, and explain how AI enhances rule-based execution
• Identify the distinct responsibilities of humans, systems, and AI agents within modern automation environments
• Explain how workflows serve as the orchestration backbone in WorkHQ’s agentic automation model
• Outline the separation of duties between workflows, AI agents, digital workers, and human approvals
• Articulate the mindset shift from RPA-first thinking to agentic workflow design, including the importance of API-driven integration
